Coronavirus: Which ZIP codes in Greene County have had the most cases?

Pop-up COVID-19 tests have been popping up all over Dayton this summer like this one in North Bend Blvd. Hospitals in Southwest Ohio are concerned about the recent up-tick in COVID-19 cases.

In Greene County, the most coronavirus cases are concentrated in Xenia and surrounding areas, according to Ohio’s interactive ZIP code coronavirus data map.

Greene County remains at the red level 3 alert on the Ohio Public Health Advisory System, meaning the county has “very high exposure and spread” of the coronavirus. In total, the county has seen 5,371 reported cases, just under half of which were reported in the last 30 days.

The county has seen a reported 66 deaths and 312 hospitalizations due to the virus, according to the Ohio Department of Health on Wednesday. Thursday’s daily numbers will be reported Friday due to the Thanksgiving holiday.

The top five ZIP codes for coronavirus cases in Greene County are: 45385 (Xenia, Sugarcreek Twp., Oldtown, Byron, New Jasper, Wilberforce); 45324 (Fairborn, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, parts of Beavercreek and Holiday Valley); 45440 (parts of Kettering, Beavercreek, Centerville, Bellbrook and Sugarcreek Twp.); 45305 (Bellbrook, Sugarcreek Twp.); and 45434 (eastern Beavercreek), according to the ODH ZIP code map for the county.

Together, these top five ZIP codes account for 3,769 reported cases, or around 70% of the total for the county. Of these ZIP codes, the top two account for the vast majority at 2,619 cases, or just under half of the total cases.
